Thomas Thorne found guilty on an indictment for the highway robbery of John Basham in the parish of Danbury on 9th May 1740: robbing him of 17/3 in money numbered; of John Hawks in the same parish on 18th April 1740: robbing him of a Portuguese gold coin (value 36/-) and 46/- in money numbered; of Nicholas Sweeting in the same parish on 22nd April 1740: robbing him of 2/- in money numbered.
